Conference Venue

All of the conference activities will take place on, and around, the University of California, Berkeley, main campus. Founded in 1868, Berkeley is the top public university in the U.S. and one of the top universities in the world. The historic campus, adorned with stunning architecture and lush greenery is where academic excellence and cultural diversity converge.

The university is home to the world’s first large, modern-era shaking table, commissioned in 1972, and used for many years by Professor James M. Kelly, our honorary conference co-chair, for numerous ground-breaking experiments investigating and demonstrating the superior performance of seismic isolation and energy dissipation technologies.
